Tourmedical Review

When my husband returned to have additional treatments last year, after his successful almost-full-mouth of crowns and 3 implants, I decided to have a check up, a chip on a front tooth fixed, and my teeth whitened. Knowing my husband had had excellent service, I already knew I was in safe hands.

So let me describe what the experience is like:

The clinic itself is beautiful, easy to find and park at, being on the main road that runs along the hillside above the city of Kusadasi, 45 mins from Izmir (the closest airport). It offers the most beautiful view of the coast as you wait in the fresh, modern waiting area and from the treatment rooms. It smells divine and is so clean and luxurious – truthfully, it puts most UK dental surgeries to shame!

Then there’s the staff! Ably fronted by our wonderful coordinator, Gizem, they are so warm, welcoming, and competent. Gizem is Turkish but completely fluent in English and honestly, you could not find a nicer more lovely person, as beautiful inside as out! She organises everything impeccably and while we always hire a car when we visit Kusadasi, she arranges the clinic’s own drivers and cars to collect and take you back to your hotel/villa if needed, as well as everything else you need for your treatment. She also stays on hand during procedures, if needed, so she can translate any questions you may have as you’re having work done, which is incredibly reassuring.

(I must add here that my husband said the drivers are great, very smart and know just when you need chatty reassurance on your journey, or a quiet rest because you’re recovering )

Dr Elcin, the primary dentist, is so lovely, and having been an implantoogist and cosmetic dentist for over 2 decades (she must have started young or is an excellent advert for the Practice’s other treatments because she’s another stunning clinician ), she completely puts you at ease.

As for the treatment, the painful chip at the bottom of my 2nd top tooth (which had been causing a lot of sensitivity, and I actually thought couldn’t be saved)was given an invisible resin “filling” and the difference is night and day! I’m no longer protecting it with my tongue every time I drink something that isn’t basically room temperature! It was only a tiny chip, more like a sliver that had sheered off the back and just fractionally shortened the tooth compared to it’s opposing number but it now looks just like it always did!

Having always looked after my 50 year old teeth they were still fairly white but I thought while I was there, why not have them professionally whitened. So being fairly ok to begin with and not wanting glow in the dark white, they’re still whiter than they were and to be honest, look like they did maybe 10 years ago, which is fine by me. It didn’t hurt at all and just took about half an hour total.

I’ve since returned this June to have an implant done for my 4th top tooth and am now booked to have my crown fitted to it in a few weeks.

I’ve never been scared of the dentist but having any kind of medical treatment abroad can be a bit scary but I genuinely look forward to going back and seeing everyone (and the clinic ’emotional support Pomeranians ) and knowing that I’m in good hands.

I know from having my implant done (which I’d have been a bit scared about having done at home on the UK, let alone overseas) that the clinic keep in touch with you regularly afterwards and before you go home (I booked 9 days away so had plenty of time if I needed to go back for anything).

When I’d had the broken tooth removed as an emergency on the UK I had a terrible reaction to the prophylactic antibiotics (metronidazole by the way, and as an aside, I urge you to ask for something else if ever you’re in a similar position as they can do long term damage ). I told Gizem and she ensured I wasn’t given these and I had no adverse reaction to the antibiotics Dr Elcin prescribed.

I think that’s everything and I hope it’s helpful to anyone considering dental treatment or anything else at Tour Medical.

I started my journey with Tourmedical after my husband brother and sister in law had all been treated , and had outstanding results. So although unsure and a bit apprehensive. I had my first contact with Melis, she was amazing and was always prompt with returning my messages and answered everything I needed to know before coming to turkey. With various plans, so I could decided what was best for myself.

On arrival transfers were brilliant and we chose a hotel suggested by Tourmedical. The unique hotel.

My first day I was met by the lovely Melis. She took me through all the paperwork and then I went to meet Elcin my dentist. After discussing what was needed, I was in the chair to start. The most important question … did I feel any pain? The answer is an absolute NO. All my treatment was pain free with Elcin. After 3 visits, having implants, fillings replaced, crowns and emax veneers. Although I had some tenderness from the implants as that surgery is quite intense and to be expected, I am recovering well and following the instructions given.

All that’s left to say is a big thank you to Elcin, your work is outstanding. Melis you rest all the nerves and organise to a great standard and the rest of the team that I met at Tourmedical that all played a part in my journey ( apologies I didn’t get your names to thank you personally) however you did a great job.

I will look forward to seeing you all in my return for my next stage of implant surgery next year. X

Great experience from start to finish from talking to melis arranging to the first day i was abit nervous but can honestly say the works didnt hurt. The only uncomfortable bit was fitting the teeth but still nothing to what i was expecting.

Just recently completed my dental treatment at Dentist Kuşadai where I had implants and crowns fitted. From the very first visit in April 2024 to the last in August 2024. I have received nothing but professional treatment from the dentists and all of the friendly staff as well as the English speaking Agents Denise & Melis.

I am very very happy with my teeth that look so natural and my new lovely smile, cannot recommend them enough.

Had lense replacement surgery. The surgery was an success. Wish I had done it years ago. The whole process was effortless and was kept updated through the whole process. Denise the patient co ordinator was on hand to answer any questions and translate what I could not understand. Would highly recommend it.

When I arrived at dentist which was great as they picked me up from hotel and airport great service I was very nervous but as soon as I met the team they soon put me at ease

The procedure took about 4 hours and being honest there was little pain if any afterwards I was sore for a few days and slightly swollen but within a couple of days the swelling went down

Would recommend Tour medical so clean and the staff all great

If you are nervous like I was don’t be it’s fine
